My favorite bloggers

Today's a lazy day, Me and Jordan are just hanging out listening to records. He's reading a book and I'm drinking my favorite Moroccan mint tea and reading blogs. I always truly believe you sometimes need to just take a day to just spend time with the one you love doing the things you love.

Here are a few of my favorite blogs to read when I'm taking some time for me.

Antiquated Treasures

When I first saw Danielle's blog I was entranced, I love reading about her adventures (currently in Paris)! She has an amazing sense of style and a lovely eye for photography.

Chic on the Cheap

A blog devoted to staying stylish without breaking the bank always keeps me coming back for more. And we have the same style which is a definite bonus =)

En magisk purt til en anan vard

En magisk purt til en anan vard literally translated means "A magical gate to another world" and that is exactly what this blog is! Whenever I read it I feel as if Im transported into a dream, and a fairytale.

Sequin Magazine

Sequin Magazine was the very first blog I followed on this site and it still remains to be a favorite. It is a visual masterpiece and continues to amaze me with its dreamlike quality.

The Clothes Horse

The Clothes Horse has been mentioned in my blog a couple of times because it was the blog that inspired me to begin blogging. Rebeccas blog is a daily tribute to fashion, art and nature. She inspired me and I hope she inspires you. (Plus Nasha the labbit is so cute!)

Happy reading,
Sarah

Slip Dresses?

Slips worn as dresses have always caused an interesting dilemma for me. I don't want to appear to be under dressed but at the same time I love the fairytale effect the slip gives to my outfit. So what do you think? Slips worn as dresses yes, no? And if yes how would you style it?

Love,

Sarah

Princess Samy Vintage

With most etsy shops I see there are usually 4 or 5 things I really want to buy, but today I stumbled across a shop on etsy that was amazing simply because I wanted EVERYTHING. Princess Samy Vintage is filled with amazing vintage finds. And it truly proves that vintage doesn't have to make you look old.

Here are a couple of my favorites:

Happy Shopping!

Decades.

In terms of vintage clothing Ive always loved the 50's and 40's. Something about the simple lines, flattering cuts and superior quality of cloth makes me feel elegant and refined in ways modern clothing never has.

Whats the decade you style your look after?

Happy Vintage Hunting,

Sad Day

Hello dears! I want to tell you a horrible tale of loss....

There once was a girl who loved

A dress the color of deep violets

She longed for the dress so deeply

So she went on ebay to buy it

But alas the bidding went up

And the poor girl could no longer afford it

This is the tale of my life...
(It doesn't rhyme because I'm too distraught)

Has there ever been a piece of clothing you almost bought then didn't? And you cant stop thinking about it?

This is mine, a beautiful 50s purple crinoline dress *dies*

Have a fabulous Monday(Ha!)

Ice Skating

I hate hate hate snow! Did I mention I detest it and anything winter related?
Walking out of my house today I slipped on a patch of ice and now not only can I not walk, I cant take Jordan ice skating for his birthday!I wanted to have a romantic date just like when we first started dating...
So here's my question. What are some romantic date ideas for someone on their birthday that allows one to sit?
Have a beautiful day! (and watch your step!)

Sarah

Doodle

I'm not happy with my wardrobe... I wish I had beautiful 50s frilly dresses and 50's style pumps. My drab practical Minnesotan wardrobe is a constant reminder of my surroundings....

It snowed today....

I remember when I loved snow.....

Lately Ive found myself looking on etsy and ebay constantly looking for the perfect 50s style dress, unfortunately everything I found has been hundreds of dollars! But ill find the perfect dress for cheap! And when I do Ill finally have something to post! (insert picture of me in a frilly 50s style dress frolicking through a field... or snow)

P.s. Jordan's birthday is on Sunday!
I think I'm going to bring him ice skating =)...

Fantasy

I was going through my jewelry box today and came across a little gold locket I hadn't worn since I was a little girl.... It brought back old memories and when I put it on I felt myself transform...

It started with a book
she carried it wherever she went
and in the book was a girl
who wished she was a princess
fiction never seemed so real
You know, dolls make the very best friends. Just because they can't speak doesn't mean they don't listen. And did you know that when we leave them alone in our room, they come to life?-Captain Crewe

Magic has to be believed. That's the only way it's real.-Captain Crewe
I am a princess. All girls are. Even if they live in tiny, old attics; even if they dress in rags; even if they aren't pretty, or smart, or young. They're still princesses. All of us. Didn't you father ever tell you that? Didn't he? -Sara

It ended with a book

she put her hopes in a golden locket

so she could have them wherever she went

Happy Thursday,

Sarah

Ello

Well I'm having some serious regret for neglecting my blog the last couple of days. It all started with a sinus infection that kicked my butt and then moving back into the dorms. But I'm back! A bit stuffy and overwhelmed with such a small closet but all in all I'm well =)
The anticipation for the season premier of project runway is making me a bit queasy so ill showcase it with a picture!

!!!

I guess you know what Ill be doing tomorrow!

Who are you going to watch for? Any Favorites?

Happy Day Before Tomorrow!

Lazy Sunday

Ive seemed to have a theme throughout my winter break, lazy Sunday, Every Day. To prove my point ill tell you about today! Woke up, came home from Jordan's and watched the new episode of Launch My Line. I'm now currently lounging in my PJ's, reading TONS of wedding blogs and eating a cream cheese bagel. I'm not engaged or anything but after me and Jordan had our two year anniversary its ALL i can think about! Call me nuts, but its fun! I even found the most perfect ring EVER!

See! Its beautiful and antique looking. True love right there =) Do you plan your wedding without the ring already on your finger? Let me know I'm not the only looney one!

Have a great Lazy Sunday!

Sarah

Lime Crime

My search for the perfect red lipstick is failing miserably! Although the price is more than I'm used to the Lime Crime red lipstick "Retrofuturist" seems like my best bet. Has anyone used any Lime Crime lipsticks? What did you think of them? And how do you think it would translate on someone with fair skin and dark hair.

Wish me luck!

If you have been touched by autism or simply want to help support others who are struggling to cope with this silent epidemic please join my group on facebook here. I hope we can help give them a voice.
