Things I Love - A Vintage Connection

Two dresses, in two stores with one common thread.

Although I'm not a mother yet I can definitely envision this as my perfect matching mother-daughter ensemble.

The ugly truth

A couple weeks ago while reading a Top Shelf editorial at Into The Gloss I clicked a link that lead me to the makeup line RMS Beauty and right to the website Beauty Truth.
Beauty Truth is a website that strongly advocates organic skincare and condemns the beauty industry for its use of toxic products in their skincare. After reading through the site I was horrified by some of the things I learned...
(Picture: Beauty Truth)

I really recommend the site if you are interested in learning about the truth of what we put into our bodies, but don't read it if you aren't willing to reevaluate your skincare routine. I swear I was sitting on my roommates futon surrounded by every beauty product I own, panicking, because on the list of top 10 ingredients to avoid, each product I own contained at least one.
This information opened my eyes to the world of organic skincare. I recommend the blog Fig & Sage for their organic makeup reviews if your interested in learning about beauty alternatives.

What do you think about toxic products in out skin care items?

Get by with a little help from my friends

These Rebecca Minkoff Doll Pull Tab Booties are my new love. Love love love. But for a whopping price of $350 I cant even begin to think of affording them. I've been looking and looking and haven't been able to find anything! Which is where you guys come in. Have you seen anything with a similar design for a cheaper price?
If you have leave a link. It would make this blogger very very happy ;)

Things I love - Hippie Love

Today was TOMS annual day without shoes at my school and it really brought the hippie love child out in me. As I strolled through campus bare foot I wish I could have been wearing something more like this.

Favorite Shop... Oxford Jewel

One feature I kept meaning to start on this blog was showing you some of my favorite shops! And trust me, I've found some gems (pardon the pun). I decided to start it off with Oxford Jewel.

Oxford Jewel is the best online shop I've ever seen for vintage jewelry. Everything is high quality, bidding starts out low and the seller knows what they are talking about! Every item comes with a in depth description including estimated date and appraisal information. These are some of my favorites currently in the shop...

Would you like to hear more about my favorite shops in the future?

The week I turned 20.

(Warning: This is a text heavy post. If you hate reading and come here just for the pictures proceed with caution)

I had such a whirlwind week. Monday was me and Jordan's three and a half year anniversary (yes we celebrate half years, double the fun ;). We went to see The King's Speech which was amazing and snuck chinese food into the theater, which, in retrospect wasn't too sneaky because my bag was bulging and it smelled up the entire theater... anyways... it was delicious =)

Tuesday appeared to be ordinary until I got an email saying that I was accepted into my schools Nursing Program. I am completely overwhelmed that I got in and am so happy that I am one step closer to getting my dream job.

Wednesday was my 20th birthday and I got dressed up in my favorite 60s dress (its loud, and gets looks)
(Repeat photo alert! I am a photo repeater!)
We went out and got Chinese food (again) with my girlfriends.. and Jordan. Jordan's present to me was this AWESOME bag!

It rocks so hard.

On Thursday I had an Anatomy & Physiology test and I was pretty sure my day was gonna be a bust until I found a pretty card in my mailbox from my girlfriend Chelsea that read...

Will you be my Bridesmaid?

And I cried again.

So today is Friday. I went home, got noodles, started reading The Devil Wears Prada and all I really have to say is...

What an amazing week.
