Bits + Pieces - Calm

Today has been filled with hours of kitting, watching Netflix (anyone here a fan of Merlin?), and well... really that's it. I've been thinking lately about how much I miss the summer's of my youth. I would wake up every morning, ride my bike to the library, and peddle back triumphantly with an entire canvas satchel full to the brim with books slung over my shoulder. I was so content with solitude, a quality I fear I've lost along the way. While I, in a lot of way's, love this constant connectedness with like minded people, sometimes, I think about those days laying out in the sun with a good book and it makes me smile. Maybe one day this weekend I'll turn off my computer, set my phone aside, and just sit down with a good book.

    1. It's a bit juvenile but I like it all the same because the story line is good!

    1. You're too sweet! It was a bit hard to pick up but now I seem to have the hang of it! I just need to learn how to cast off!

  4. Oh how often I feel that way! It's funny how "connected" we are yet I often feel so lonely! It's a different kind of irony. I do miss being what I now would call "lazy". I remember one glorious Saturday reading an entire Nancy Drew novel from cover to cover on my bed. Those were the days!

    1. That sounds like the best of days and the silly thing is they are so easy to accomplish!

  5. I think that sounds like a good idea. I also think back at my childhood summers and it seams like there was always sunshine (I live in Denmark, so that can NOT be true)and I loved that I could spend a whole day, just reading a book. Nothing else. Now I have a boyfriend and a daughter and a house and a ton of laundry and a big yard to take care of. But I wouldn't trade it for the world though :) I hope you get tme to have a good read
